In addition to my passion for breastfeeding, I am also a Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Instructor for the hospital. In 2018 I became a Breastfeeding Instructor for the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition and have loved sharing my experiences and knowledge with others aspiring to become lactation consultants and those interested in gaining more breastfeeding knowledge. Since starting my private practice in lactation, I realized the need for more education regarding newborn sleep, oral dysfunction, and bottle refusal for the families that I serve.

+ Quirky thing about me: You could not pay me enough money to eat an egg, drink milk, or ride a roller coaster! I love the smell of leather and a fresh off the print newspaper. Weird, I know! I know all the words to Baby Got Back and AC/DC, Poison, and 90’s country make me happy.
+ My family: I married my high school sweetheart, Steve, and we have raised our four children in our hometown of Moundridge, KS. We love following our kids in their activities and journeys to becoming adults. We are slowly becoming acclimated to our new roles as “empty nesters”.

I always say, “God made my hands to help mommas feed their babies.” My passion is to help support and educate families on their breastfeeding journey. After my own struggles with breastfeeding my first child and having no support, I understand the challenges mothers face. I have worked at a hospital in labor and delivery since 2007. I am a member of the Topeka Breastfeeding Coalition and also serve as Secretary on the Kansas Breastfeeding Coalition Board of Directors. I coordinate all of the prenatal education classes for the hospital where I’m employed, and facilitate a postpartum family support group.

My family: I married my high school sweetheart, Brad, and we have three children. Brad and I grew up in Beloit, KS and currently live in Topeka, KS. I love spending time with our adult children and traveling together. I love to run, hike, and stay active.
