National Breastfeeding Month Celebration 2024{Part 2}

In case you missed {Part 1} of our National Breastfeeding Month celebration event with our breastfeeding moms and babies, you can click HERE to get caught up on all of the fun we had. Our goal was to pamper each and every mom and get them out of the house with their sweet babies. A special surprise we had waiting for them upon their arrival, were chair massages from Penny Stucky with Therapeutic Touch. Penny also has a big heart for moms and babies as she has worked as a labor and delivery nurse as well! Thank you so much Penny for blessing these moms!

Penny is based out of Moundridge as well and ready to book massages for you!

Up next is my niece, Erin Durst who just graduated from Hays Hair Academy. You know those girls who were always the “go to” for hair and all things beauty when they were in high school? This was Erin! She is now ready to use her gifts and is building her clientele in a salon in McPherson, KS—- Blonde Ambitions. Obviously, I love that name—-my ambition to be blonde is strong! :)

Erin got the “stylist gene” from the family as her Grandma Bonnie (and Great Aunts Vicky and Deb) have been long time leaders in the beauty industry at Creative Hairlines.

Erin’s favorite thing to do is highlights and colors.

You’re going to want to book with Erin!

Now for some of the other goodies our moms were given…

Thank you to Flutterhabit for their generous donation to glam up our moms for their photo shoot!

I was introduced to Flutterhabit back during 2020 when I happened to be at home more than I usually was…anyone relate? I stumbled on these lashes and the beautiful story of the creator who is actually local to us in the greater Kansas City area! It took me some trial and error, but once I figured it out, I was absolutely hooked on these lashes and have worn them ever since. If you would like to try these out for yourself, I am here to tell you—-if I can apply them? ANYONE CAN!!! So many styles to choose from—and I’ve tried them all. My favorite is the Sweetheart. But there is a style for everyone and everyone has different eye shapes, preferences, etc. They are a game changer in my getting ready each day and significantly more affordable than lash extensions as well as less time-consuming. I can apply in less than 15 minutes! If you would like to try then for yourself, you can by using this link for a discount! Click HERE!

My daughter, Natalie has become a pro at applying on her friends and family—so naturally, we needed her expertise for these special moms. We used the loveseat in my office and I think Nat was ready for a chair massage after all of that!

And of course no celebration is complete without food. As Phil in Somebody Feeds Phil says “food is the great connector”.

I just love that.

Sara Nuzum, our wonderful photographer provided this beautiful and yummy punch. We had requests for the recipe that is a family favorite. See below and make it for your next event—it is SO good!

Sue Greenleaf’s Frozen Punch Recipe

3 small packages of red raspberry Jello—dissolve in 2 cups boiling water

ADD: 3 cups sugar and boil for one minute. Pour into large bowl

ADD: 12 oz cans of frozen orange juice and frozen lemonade, 46 oz can of pineapple juice, 10 cups of water and 1-2 liter bottle of 7-up

Pour into 1 gallon Ziploc bags (fill 3/4 full) [don’t use the bags with a zipper]. Freeze. This makes approximately 2 gallons. Thaw 1-2 hours before serving. It will be slushy.

I would add that these champagne flutes will elevate any of your favorite drinks!

Each mom and baby were sent home with a pink gift bag of goodies that included their choice of Flutterhabit lashes with tube of glue, tweezers, my FAVORITE LMNT electrolyte sample pack (thank you LMNT!!!!), a doTerra goodie from Tonya Ferguson (THANK YOU—I’m excited to get some of the diaper rash cream), and a package of baby wipes.

We are already looking forward to next August to continue the celebration of breastfeeding moms and babies!!
