Why Matthew 5:16?
Coming up with a business name is not for the faint of heart. I was reminded recently from an old post of mine (like we’re talking years old) that this scripture has been a part of my life through many different seasons. This wall art is in my home and has been hidden behind a curtain at most times of the day. Brings a different meaning to hide it under a bushel, no? A friend of mine back in the day also gave me a sweet reminder of this verse in the form of a wooden piece that sits on my dresser. This verse has been rooted within me for a while now…
One of my favorite authors, Holley Gerth, had the most beautiful reference to this verse in a devotional I was working through. It popped up in my memories and was as impactful at that time in my life as it is now.
☀️Light overcomes darkness every time.☀️“You can use your gifts. You can serve those around you. You can love God in your everyday life. You can pursue the dream he’s placed in your heart.--when you do those things, you flip on the light switch. And who knows how far the glow will go?”
And there it is. The most perfect explanation of why Matthew 5:16 was my starting point for naming this business. I’m not sure I even realized how perfectly this sums up how SHINE Lactation + Postpartum Support came to be.
